Custom-Tomahawk - Spike Tomahawk. This is a brand new, original, historically influenced, hand made tomahawk that I forged in my blacksmith shop, The North River Forge. I specialize in hand forged reproductions of the 18th and 19th centuries. Each piece is unique. Steel: : 1018 steel head with a welded cutting edge and spike of 1075 high carbon steel using traditional 18th. century blacksmithing methods. Dimensions: Head overall 9 1/8" - Cutting edge 2 7/8" wide. Haft: Hard maple, 18 3/4" long. Finish: Aged finish with an antique patina. Period correct. Features: Beautiful hand file work on the blade. Leather sheath. This hawk is stamped with my makers mark NR and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Great for re-enactors or collectors who crave tradition. Hand crafted in the traditions of long ago. It is a reminder of an era past. A very nice reproduction spike-hawk that will take and keep a good edge. It has never been carried or used. Functional as well as beautiful. A classic 18th century design.
