Frontier Style Rifleman's Knife. Blade Steel: 1095 high carbon steel, tempered to a Rockwell 59-60 Construction: Through Tang. Tang runs through entire length of the handle and is peened over the rear steel butt cap Dimensions: Blade 6 7/8" - Handle 5 3/8" - Overall 12 1/4" - Width 1 1/8" - Thickness 5/32" Scales/Grip: Black walnut with a solid brass ferrule. Sheath: Hand stitched 7-8 oz. Veg tan leather with welt. Brass clasp. Finish: Aged finish, lightly etched. Period correct. Special Features: Filework. Hand forged finger guard and butt cap. This knife comes with a certificate of authenticity. A very nice reproduction period hand-forged frontier-knife that will take and keep a good edge. It has never been carried or used.
