Period Hand-Forged Frontier French Pistol Grip Belt Knife

Blade Steel: L6 high carbon tool steel,tempered to a Rockwell 59-60

Construction: Full tang

Dimensions: Blade 4 3/8" - Handle 4 3/4" - Overall 9 1/8" - Width 1 5/16" - Thickness: 1/8"

Scales: Curly maple. Secured with three iron pins and a rawhide/cord bolster.

Sheath: Rawhide wrap over 7-8oz. veg tan leather with welt. Decorated with a deerhide fringe and brass tacks.

Finish: Forge finish. Period correct.

Special Features. Filework on spine of blade.

This knife is stamped with my makers mark “NR” and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Great for re-enactors or collectors who crave tradition. Hand-forged in the traditions of long ago. A piece of history re-created. This custom-knife is sharp and fully functional.
